Pearland is a community in the Texas state of the United States, within the metropolitan area of Houston and Woodlands and Sugar Land. Much of the town is in Brazoria County, with portions reaching into the counties of Fort Bend and Harris. The town has an annual population of more than 120,000. Pearland has 47.5 square miles of total surface area. Back in time, residents picked many fruits at Pearland. Zychlinski saw the pear trees, and decided that "Pearland" would give the town a good reputation.
