Amarillo is Texas's 14th most populous city in the US state. It is also the Texas Panhandle's largest city, and the Potter County seat. A part of the city extends through Randall County. As of 2018 the population was estimated at 199,924. The town was once the self-proclaimed "Helium Capital of the World" for having one of the most active helium fields in the country. The town is also known as "The Yellow Rose of Texas" (as the town takes its name from the Spanish word for yellow)
