The city is home to a wide variety of companies including General Motors Technical Center, U.S. Army Detroit Arsenal, U.S. Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command house, and the Tank Vehicle Research, Development and Engineering Center. I-696 cuts through Warren to the east and west. M-53, Van Dyke Avenue (also known as the Earle Memorial Highway), leads north and south onto Van Dyke Freeway and bisects the city.
