Thousand Oaks is Ventura County's second-largest city, California, United States. It is located in the northwestern part of Greater Los Angeles, about 40 miles from downtown Los Angeles, and less than 15 miles from the Forest Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles. It is named after the many oak trees in the area and is adorned with an oak on the seal of the town. The line from Los Angeles County Ventura County crosses with Westlake Village at the east boundary of the city. The projected population is more than 127,000. The town of Thousand Oaks is located in the Conejo Valley in southeastern Ventura County, halfway between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, and 12 kilometers east of the Pacific. Physiography is dominated by prominent knolls, mountains surrounding him, open views and native oak forests. It contains 60,000 oak trees.
